Stacking the Shelves [#1]

I usually get a certain amount of extra money each month which I’m only allowed to spend on books —well, as if I wanted to use it for anything else ...
But I’ve been drooling over Kindle eBooks for quite some time now and then my mother came up with that cool idea not to pay any of my books this year. That alone would definitely not be a reason for great delight. Buuut—look what I got instead! :-)

Book Playlist: Lola and the Boy Next Door

I cannot read a book without listening to music! It just helps me to block out my surroundings and to plunge deeper into a story. Also, I use it to intensify a certain mood that goes well with the plot. Therefore, I create a playlist for nearly every book, before actually reading it, and adjust it once I get further into the story. The lyrics don’t have to suit the story, although it’s cool if they do.
When I read a book that is hard to understand, though, it has to be gentle music, like classical stuff or songs from my favourite icelandic band, Sigur Rós—so I cannot get distracted by the lyrics. Otherwise, I’d watch myself constantly having to read sentences twice or thrice …

So, with Lola, I wanted to have some positive music that captures the book’s lightness but also the troubles between Lola and Cricket. Enjoy & tell me if you think it fits. I’m totally interested in knowing which music other people link with it!

Introduction Or “Yet Another Book Blog”

Hi. Hey. Hello everyone!

I’d like to introduce myself: I am a seventeen year-old girl and I currently live in Germany.
I love music, movies, tv shows, art and fashion, but, most of all, I definitely enjoy reading books. The reason I don’t create a fashion blog is that I do not claim to look fashionable every single day, the reason I don’t create a blog about art is that I do not think my drawings are remarkable enough for others to look at, the reason I don’t create a music blog is that I think it would be boring after a while and the reason I don’t create a blog about movies or tv shows is that I do not have enough time to watch them because I spend most of it reading books!
